These days, you can do just about anything from an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch, and now that Spectrasonics has released its free Omni Live app, you can even use your handheld gizmo to control the Omnisphere software synthesizer from across the room.

Omni Live that turns an iPhone or iPod Touch into a wireless remote control for Omnisphere's "Live Mode" page. The app uses the iPhone's touch screen to provide multitouch, wireless remote sound selection of the Omnisphere plugin on your computer. Ideal for live performances and across-the-room use, Omni Live lets you change patches within Omnisphere, or select one or more patches simultaneously. Omni Live may be downloaded from the Apple App Store.

The remote control app currently works with Omnisphere version 1.2 or higher on Mac OS X systems, and all registered users of Omnisphere may download Omni Live for free. For more information, please visit the Spectrasonics Web site.
