Spectrasonics Omnisphere: Marketing Wizards Can Even Sell Burning Pianos

Spectrasonics Omnisphere Videos

Even with the writer's strike ending, I'm looking forward to the next Spectrasonics Omnisphere video more than the next episode of Lost or Grey's Anatomy. The latest episode, just recently released, is probably the most insane yet. It's fittingly about psychoacoustic sampling.

Eric Persing and Diego Stocco take us through some of the innovating methods they've used to create original instruments. For example, Diego records a light bulb and shows us a song created completely by light bulbs.

Spectrasonics admits that a light bulb doesn't make the most interesting sound on its own. That's where the new STEAM Engine technology comes into play, turning a run-of-the-mill household accessory into a versatile instrument.

Also, its a fact that being on fire makes something instantly ten times more awesome. Diego sets a piano on fire and records it while its burning.

If you haven't already been following religiously, take a look at the Spectrasonics videos available here.
