SPL Dual-Band De-Esser And SPL RackPack 4: Eliminating Sibilance And Superfluous Module Spaces
Oh SPL, why must you toy with our emotions? On the same day you introduce a more affordable modular frame system -- the SPL RackPack 4 -- that offers half the spaces while also increasing the option RackPack modules by introducing the SPL Dual-Band De-Esser. That's like being offered a reduced-rent one-bedroom AND a new dinette set. Woe is us!
The SPL Dual-Band De-Esser (above, left) is the newest in SPL's RackPack modular system (similar to but not interchangeable with the API 500 series modules). It offers phase-based as opposed to compression-based sibilance reduction with separate high- and lo-frequency processing. Each band can be discretely activated or de-activated, and a gender-switch function provides different de-essing signatures for male or female vocals.
Plug you rnew Dual-Band De-Esser into one of the four available slots on the new SPL RackPack 4 modular system frame (below). The original RackPack has eight spaces, but the RackPack 4 is perfect for engineers who don't need as much flexibility and are working on a tighter budget or would like a more portable unit. The RackPack 4 can be mounted in a 19" rack, but also features rubberized feet for tabletop placement.
Both items are still TBA on pricing and availability.
