Were truer words ever spoken? Probably. Like these, for example: Splurgo Audio is the way to go to get loops on the cheap. Splurgo Chorus FX Guitar Vol II, for example, can be had for $10.95. That's a totally royalty-free, 126.11 Megabytes (precise!) loop collection of 72 .wav and .aiff files. Not bad.
