A new PCIe format card, the SSL Duende PCIe, provides high bandwidth processing for Duende plug-ins at Musikmesse, quickly after the Duende Mini was unveiled. Duende adds SSL's legendary sound to your hardware for tighter integration of their Duende plug-ins.

The Duende PCIe is a half length, full height, slot-in card compatible for PCs and Macs. It works very well with external FireWire equipment or simply integrates SSL processing into a single unit with a workstation. The Duende PCIe also has enough DSP processing power to handle up to 32 channels of plug-in processing. Double up Duende PCIe cards to double the channels it can run.

The Duende PCIe ships with SSL's "EQ and Dynamics Channel" and "Duende Bus Compressor" plug-ins. The former processes EQ & Dynamics [obviously] within a single plug-in slot. Some of its main points include:

• 4-band EQ, two shelving and two parametric sections
• Variable low-pass and high-pass filter
• Switchable EQ characteristics between E Series and G Series EQ
• “Over-Easy” soft ratio compression characteristic for smooth transitions
• Variable process order routing
• Dynamics side-chain processing with independent side chains for compressor and expander / gate

The Duende Stereo Bus Compressor brings the power of the classic SSL Master Bus Compressor in plug-in form. It will enlarge your mix and add power without losing clarity, so your mix won't sit idly by when beach bullies kick sand in your mix's eyes and try to steal your mix's girl.
