Stanton M.207: Two-Channel DJ Scratch Mixer
For the DJ who can't stop scratching, Stanton has introduced the M.207, a two-channel scratch mixer housed in heavy-gauge stamped steel in black and silver.
The M.207's user interface sports the FXGlide continuous strip touch controller that employs the same touch-slider technology found in the company's other itchy unit, the DaScratch MIDI Controller. You can control and automate effects (FX) in real-time; create a custom modulation of the FX parameter, and then play back your edits instead of the normal sweeping FX. You'll also get an integrated phrase / loop sampler with up to five different loops or samples possible, along with a host of frequency-dependent effects that can be applied to any of three specific frequency bands without affecting the other frequencies.
In addition, the scratch mixer features Soft Start, which limits noise when powering on or off (not that you would need to be quiet while starting up a DJ set); integrated digital effects, including phase / flange, echo / strobe, pan / transformer, and filters; a built-in sequencer; and adjustable fader curves and fader reverse.
The M.207 includes 3-band EQ per channel with complete Kill (-64 dB); pre, post, and master headphone cueing with FX Cue; a headphone amplifier; a 45 mm crossfader; and two 10-segment LED ladder meters. As for inputs and outputs, the mixer outfits two phono / line inputs with fader start, mic and AUX inputs, and ¼-inch balanced outputs and RCA main / record outputs. Its bright blue LEDs indicate the status of the fader and crossfader reverse functions.
