Stanton T.92 USB And Stanton T.55 USB: Because Your Record Collection Won't Digitize Itself
Joining the ranks of Ion Audio and Numark, Stanton tosses its hat into the USB turntable ring with the T.92 USB and T.55 USB turntables. Each of these turntables features both USB and S/PDIF outputs, but T.92 S/PDIF and T.55 S/PDIF were probably not considered as names. The new turntables also come with Cakewalk Pyro Audio Creator and Audacity softwares so that once you plug, you're ready to play.
The Stanton T.92 USB is the higher quality of the two turntables. It boasts a high-torque, direct drive motor for high stability with additional performance features. An S-Shaped tone arm keeps distortion lower than a midget's sneakers while reducing wear and tear on your records. The T.92 USB also features built-in DSP with key lock for tempo control without modifying pitch.
The Stanton T.55 USB is a belt-drive urntable geared more towards consumers. Its straight tone arm provides excellent tracking. It shares rugged construction with polished finishes and Stanton's 500.V3 cartridge along with slipmats and dust covers. Stanton VP of Marketing, Tony Rodrigues, offered this statement, which pretty much sums up the new turntables:
“The T.92 and T.55 are unique in that they appeal to the DJ and the consumer. They are equally adept at providing a DJ a great deck while allowing anyone to quickly transfer their vinyl collection to their computer”
