Version 1.1 of Steinberg LoopMash is here, bringing with it a number of important updates for the iOS music app. In addition to LoopMash 1.1, Steinberg also announced the availability of LoopMash Free -- a scaled-down, free version of LoopMash for iPhone and iPod touch users with iOS4, which allows musicians and producers to try the app before buying it.
You can use LoopMash to mangle beats and tunes, blend loops, tap into presets, and more. LoopMash compares and replaces similar musical elements, blending up to four two-bar loops together. The app comes with over 250 audio loops from different music styles, plus more than 50 factory presets and an unlimited number of user presets. Each preset includes eight scenes, and each scene blends up to four loops together.
LoopMash 1.1 adds preset sharing and the in-app store to the app’s existing feature set. Users of the app may now expand their LoopMash library with various content sets, each containing over 50 audio loops created by top musicians and sound designers.
The newly featured in-app store offers genre-specific content sets for rock, hip-hop, and funk, as well as three additional expansion packs, each of which are available for $0.99. There is also a special set created by multi-instrumentalist and producer Erran Baron Cohen, featuring loops ranging from chillout to bossa nova, now available for $1.99.
LoopMash Free offers iPhone and iPod touch users the chance to try LoopMash for free. If they decide they like it and they want more, they can upgrade to the full retail version at any time.
