Steinberg Prologue Discoveries: New VST Sound Instrument Set
More VST 3 sound presets and MIDI loops are available for Cubase and Sequel, thanks to the release of Steinberg's new VST Sound Instrument Set, Prologue Discoveries.
Prologue Discoveries is one of two Steinberg VST Sound Instrument Sets; the other is Synthesizers, which was introduced last year. Prologue Discoveries provides a wide range of content for modern electronic productions, from deep dubstep, drum 'n' 'bass, and electro to atmospheric soundscapes and lush pads.
Taking advantage of the company's MediaBay and VST Sound technologies through the Prologue polyphonic subtractive synthesizer (featured in the fourth and fifth versions of Cubase and Sequel 2), the new sound set includes more than 180 VST 3 sound presets and more than 200 MIDI loops arranged in categorized construction kits.
The VST instrument sounds and comprehensive selection of MIDI loops expand the current sound arsenal of Steinberg Cubase 4, Cubase Studio 4 (v. 4.5), Cubase 5, Cubase Studio 5, Cubase Essential 5, Sequel 2, and Nuendo with NEK users. According to Steinberg, Prologue Discoveries is an expansion set that will pique the interest of both aspiring and tenured producers of dubstep, glitch-hop, and grime, as well as electro, techno, and minimal music.
The first VST Sound Instrument Set, Synthesizers, expands Cubase and Sequel systems with numerous sound presets and MIDI loops in the styles of the 1980s; Steinberg notes that with Synthesizers, electro and ambient come together with the latest trance, techno, and minimal electro sounds, letting you produce studio-quality projects on the fly. All in all, this sound set, also $29, includes over 140 VST3 sound presets and more than 350 MIDI loops all arranged in categorized construction kits.
The Prologue Discoveries VST Sound Instrument Set is now available as a downloadable sound pack from the Steinberg Online Shop for $29. For more information, please visit the company's Web site at steinberg.net.
