Steinberg WaveLab 7 Audio Editing And Mastering Software Now Shipping
Revamped and ready to go, Steinberg WaveLab 7 audio editing and mastering software is now shipping with myriad new features for both Mac and PC users. WaveLab 7 offers a redesigned graphical user interface, new VST3 plugins and restoration tools, flexible multiprocessing capabilities, and much more.
Whether you intend to use WaveLab 7 to record, edit, restore, or publish audio, the software's redesigned graphical user interface should improve the speed and efficiency of your workflow. Said to make working with audio more intuitive, the new interface features a customizable window and toolbar management system, a new docking and scaling system, and handling of audio material across multiple windows or Workspaces.
The software also includes a restoration tool package that includes Sonnox DeNoiser, DeBuzzer, and DeClicker plugins, plus 30 new VST3 plugins for further processing. A new WaveLab Control section, DDP support, a new CD and DVD-A burning engine, and the DIRAC 2.2 time-stretching and pitch-shifting algorithm have been added to WaveLab 7 as well.
DIRAC 2.2 provides a chromatic pitch correction on an equal-tempered scale, as well as a freely definable tuning table. The algorithm features unlimited sample rate support, making it possible to time-stretch and pitch-shift audio material with up to 384 kHz in WaveLab 7. In addition, DIRAC 2.2 includes a new formant correction engine that reproduces the instrument and voice tones precisely, according to Steinberg. The speed of time-stretching and pitch-shifting processing has been improved also.
