Tascam / Antares TA-1VP Vocal Processor With Auto-Tune Onboard

January 26, 2011
Tascam and Antares Audio Technologies announced the TA-1VP Vocal Processor, a rackmount processor with Auto-Tune and more.

Fine tune your vocal performances with the new TA-1VP Vocal Processor from Tascam and Antares Audio Technologies. The rackmount processor includes a microphone preamp, compression, de-essing, microphone and tube modeling, and Antares Auto-Tune pitch correction.

Ideal for live performance, house of worship, or studio use, the TA-1VP is the brainchild of both Tascam and Antares. It uses the new Evo version of Antares Auto-Tune processing for real-time pitch correction and doubling of the input vocal, and it includes Antares Microphone and Tube Modeling.

Antares’ microphone and tube modeling takes the input signal and gives it the character of another microphone, with a library of classics to choose from. Likewise, the De-essing module removes sibilance from your signal before variable-knee compression and gating. A digital EQ is last in the chain before output.

The Auto-Tune module can be set for any level of pitch correction, in a variey of user-selectable scales. All settings can be recalled through presets on the front panel or through MIDI. Balanced TRS input and outputs are located on the rear panel, including a Double Track out for simulating doubled vocals. A S/PDIF digital output is also provided.

The unit includes both a microphone input and line input, and compression, gating, de-essing, and equalization are all available for the input signal. On the front-panel are illuminated buttons and meters, an XLR microphone input, and phantom power for condenser mics.

TA-1VP Vocal Processor features:

  • Antares Auto-Tune Evo real-time pitch correction with enhanced tracking and correction capabilities
  • Antares Microphone Modeling simulates a variety of high-end studio microphones with variable proximity effect
  • Analog tube modeling effect
  • Variable-knee compression
  • Downward-expanding gate processor
  • Variable frequency de-esser
  • Flexible 2-band parametric EQ
  • Automatic mono or stereo doubletracking
  • User-programmable settings
  • Dynamic MIDI control
  • XLR microphone input with phantom power
  • 1/4" balanced line input and output
  • S/PDIF digital output
  • 1/4" footswitch input

Built for every audio application from live performance to studio mixdown, the TA-1VP is said to be the only hardware processor with Auto-Tune technology. For more information, visit tascam.com.

I bought my car few years

By: Husky Liners (not verified)

I bought my car few years ago without a radio and a stereo recorder. So my new wish is to have one in the car. This looks very good and the accessories are the latest fashion. A price for the product will be decisive to take the decision to buy it.

I am in the same situation

I am in the same situation as you. I guess that old cars don't have radio. But I won't spend any money to accessorize my car, instead I will buy another one which has everything from radio and stereo recorder to the air conditioning system and GPS. I don't care how much will cost I have to have such car.
