Tascam DP-008 Portastudio Boasts Eight-Tracks and Super Portability
Prior to a rehearsal or gig, you should always check the contents of your instrument case, and make double sure that everything is in there: instrument, check; tuner, check; valve oil, check; mini digital studio, check. Wait, you say, a mini digital studio small enough to fit in your instrument case? Is it the DP-004? To answer your questions, yes, and no. The latest little DP is the Tascam DP-008 ($299 Street), an 8-track Digital Portastudio with the same features as the DP-004 plus four additional tracks (for a total of eight) and built-in mixing.
The DP-008 has dedicated knobs for volume and pan for each track, along with a reverb send knob for the built-in reverb effect. Its two XLR microphone inputs with phantom power, two 1/4-inch line inputs, 1/4-inch footswitch input with Autopunch, headphone and RCA line outputs, and built-in stereo mics make for easy eight-track recording in 16-bit, 44.1 kHz resolution. Tracks are mixed down to a dedicated stereo track, while EQ is available on each track.
This DP has a built-in chromatic tuner and metronome, so can consolidate your gadgets and keep your instrument case clean and tidy. Plus, it records to SD Card media, comes with a 2 GB card, and has USB 2.0 connectivity. Nice. Expect the DP-008 to be available for purchase this month.

Line up to TASCAM DP008
My usual line up is Guitar + Wah + Ibanez Tube Screamer + Blackstar HT Dual (valve distorsion with speaker emulated output)+ Line 6 M13.
Does it work if I play guitar through that line up + TASCAM DP008?
Thanks!
Let me add that Blackstar HT
Let me add that Blackstar HT Dual is a valve stompbox.
Thanks again.
As long as you can control
As long as you can control your output, the input to the recorder, it should be cool. otherwise you would need a mixer or direct box or something like that in between.
Thanks
Though I'm afraid the question remains the same, I truly appreciate your help. Thanks for answering!
