Tascam DR-Series Portable Recorders Have New Windscreen And Case Options

April 19, 2010
Tascam's new line of windscreens and cases for DR-Series portable recorders includes the CS-680 case and WS-DR2 windscreen.

Function meets furry fashion with Tascam's new line of windscreens and cases for the Tascam DR-Series of portable recorders.

The new DR-680 may now be carried and protected by the CS-680 case, which was custom-designed with velcro flaps to cover unneeded jacks. A clear plastic flap on top protects the multichannel recorder from mist and other weather conditions, while a front pocket is provided for carrying extra batteries and SD cards. The case is compatible with the shoulder strap that comes included with the DR-680.

Meanwhile, the CS-DR2 case for the DR-2d recorder offers folding panels that can be arranged to prop the DR-2d at an angle for tabletop recording or playback.

Also for the DR-2d, the new deluxe WS-DR2 windscreen (shown here) uses artificial fur to block wind gusts from the internal mics. This windscreen also fits the DR-1, GT-R1, and DR-07 recorders. For the DR-08 recorder, Tascam made the new WS-DR08 windscreen kit, which includes foam screens applicable to the DR-08 microphones when arranged together or spread apart.

Pricing and availability will be announced at a later time. For more information, please visit tascam.com.
