Tascam HS-P82 Offers Eight-Track Recording On The Spot
High-end field recording is made simple with the Tascam HS-P82 ($4,999), which is designed to record just about anything while on location for music, TV, and film production.
This 8-track field recorder has eight mic preamps with standard XLR inputs that record up to 24-bit, 96 kHz resolution audio with timecode, along with nearly every type of input and output you could need, dual Compact Flash slots for recording with backup, and USB 2.0 connectivity.
Plentiful features and ease of use run the gamut with this unit, as a stereo mix can be recorded in addition to the eight individual channels, for a total of 10-channel capture. Choose your method of power; the recorder can be juiced by AA batteries, NP type, AC adaptor, external DC input, and the optional V-mount adaptor for Endura batteries. The HS-P82 is housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis with a TFT color touchscreen.
Tascam expects to ship the recorder in December, 2009.
