TASCAM US-100: Entry-Level USB Audio Interface Gives Hassle Free Recording Without The Mumbo Jumbo

TASCAM US-100

Some of the cases about the origins of home recording enthusiasts involve people who'd rather get more out of their money than blow it all away once in an expensive state-of-the-art studio. Other reasons include instant idea capture, a virtually unlimited number of demo recordings, or just having that instant gratification of hearing one's own performance in a recording that can rival the biggest recording studios. In any case, budgetary constraints hamper the home recording guys from getting additional gear and the TASCAM US-100 solves those money worries as each unit has a price that's significantly lower than the competition.

The TASCAM US-100 is a USB 2.0 audio interface that features a microphone input as well as instrument level input for direct recording of instruments such as guitar or bass. Stereo line inputs that are switchable to a phono level enables you to connect other equipment such as turntables that will enable users to digitize recordings from vinyl. Connection to a computer, whether Mac or Windows, is hassle free via USB 2.0

For those getting started with recording, the US-100 is a good choice as it offers 48-kHz/16-bit recording resolution, 1/8" stereo headphone output, zero-latency monitoring, and a free copy of Audacity. The TASCAM US-100 will start hitting the shelves of TASCAM retailers by September starting at a price of 100.00 USD.

But can you plug in a microphone and a guitar and record them as separate tracks at the same time?

No Multi Track

It only records 1 track at a time, if you plug in a guitar it over-rides the line/mic input.
