Planet Waves

Planet Waves released two handy products to keep your guitar in tip-top shape: the Elliptical Endpin, which secures any strap to any guitar; and the XLR8 multipurpose guitar string cleaner and lubricant, which removes friction and conditions the fretboard.  

No matter what instrument you play, Planet Waves has a tuner for you. At Summer NAMM, the company introduced its dual-function, self-explanatory Metronome Tuner, and the new clip-on NS Mini Headstock Tuner for guitar.  

Designed especially for the acoustic guitar, the Planet Waves Acoustic Quick Release Strap and Planet Lock Straps feature quick-release, durable designs that keep your instrument exactly where you want it.  

The original Beatles faux-leather straps were so successful that Planet Waves decided to give Beatles straps one more go. The company announced an all new series of Beatles woven guitar straps to be available with designs based on album artwork.  

Guitarists can check out the latest Planet Waves guitar accessories to be released next month. These new items include the the D-Slyde glass slide, Chrome-Plated Brass Slide, and the compact and portable / use anywhere Guitar Rest.  

Every guitarist can use an extra set of strings, right? Well until the end of the year, Planet Waves is offering a free set of D'Addario guitar strings to anyone who purchases the Guitar Tools app. This app offers a host of features from other Planet Waves apps like Chordmaster, Scale Wizard, ProTune, and ProTempo.  

Now would be a good time for guitarists to try out Planet Waves apps, because all this week, the Guitar Tools app -- a suite of features from other PW apps, including Chordmaster, Scale Wizard, ProTune, and ProTempo -- is being offered as a free download.  

Steve Martin's character in the movie The Jerk couldn't feel the beat, but he might have had better luck if he had a metronome app like the new Planet Waves ProTempo on hand. Updated with more precise timing, new drum sounds, and overall better control over rhythmic variations, the new app is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch.  

No rehearsal hall or performance stage is too noisy to tune in, if you have the Planet Waves Piezo Tuning Clip with you. The clip-on tuning aid transmits your instrument's vibrations to a connected tuner (via 1/4" plug) so that you can still play in tune, in any playing environment.  

At Summer NAMM, Planet Waves will be showing off yet another strapping collection of guitar straps, this one featuring the album art of none other than The Who.

And what does it do? Why, it wirelessly controls your Line 6 Variax (and possibly Vetta amp), of course! . . . sigh.

*and based on the success of the Chordmaster App, I'd say it's a safe bet they're making.  

You know, I usually turn my cell phone off when I perform, but not anymore. I'm getting an iPhone and the Planet Waves Chord master app, and I'll be able to quickly look up complex chord voices on the fly! My performances will never go uninterrupted again! Unless Bono finally calls me back.  

Since musicians love working out, guitarists should be pretty psyched about the news that Planet Waves will be displaying the new Varigrip at Winter NAMM 2009. The ladies will notice you walking around with those chiseled fingers, and why not make good on that New Year's Resolution to finally get those rock-hard six-pack abs on your palms that'll have Jesus asking, what would YOU do?  

One of the neat and useful gadgets Planet Waves is going to be highlighting at Winter NAMM 2009 is the new Headstock Tuner. Headstock Tuner? More like Woodstock Tuner because you'll feel like you're playing Woodstock, that's how in tune you'll be.  

Nothing makes changing preamp-added folk instruments easier than Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cables. These cables are some of Juan Dies' favorite cables to bring on stage with the multi-instrumental ensemble, Sones de Mexico.  

Admittedly, Planet Waves normally wouldn't take the trip to present at a trade show, but their new Modular Snake changed that. Here they are at AES showing this conveniently designed snake, which is a blessing for studios and live sound setups alike.
