Sennheiser announced new white modular microphones for ceiling installation, a new series of gooseneck mics, a software update for the Audio Distribution Network (ADN) discussion system, and more.  

Sennheiser released a whole dozen Evolution Wireless G3 100 Series Combo Kits. Each of these wireless audio kits comes with the GA3 rackmount kit, various lavaliers, and either the new EarSet ear-worn microphone or an additional handheld transmitter.  

Lock and load -- Sennheiser introduced two new shotgun mics and an optional screw-on digital module to enhance them. These new models include the MKH 8060 short-gun microphone, the MKH 8070 rifle microphone, and the MZD 8000 digital module.  

Erik Wofford does more than play with his band Candi And The Strangers. He works extensively with other bands in the studio and after the studio. An album he mastered just won a Grammy for Best Latin Rock album. He talks to Gearwire about Micing drums in the studio.  

Like some sort of half-quota, pro-audio Noah, Tim Chilton of Smart Post Sound has collected one (two in some cases) of nearly every thing, and he keeps them close at hand in the post-production facility's Foley Studio. Cubits upon cubits of storage shelves are dedicated to an inanimate menagerie of things that go pop, clack, whizz, bang, tinkle, swoosh, clang, and pthbbtbbt. And Tim preserves them for all of audible eternity with a pair of Sennheiser MKH-415 shotgun microphones.  

Run as few as two wireless microphone systems and you're bound to have to troubleshoot. Run thirty-seven simultaneously and you're David Bellamy, RF Coordinator for the 2010 Grammy Awards Show.  

With no wires or interference, Sennheiser's new PX 210 BT portable mini headphone has a clear transmission range of up to 33 feet away from the audio source.  

The newest generation of Sennheiser's Evolution Wireless is now shipping. Through surprisingly radical generational mutation and a dash of natural selection, the Sennheiser Evolution Wireless G3 is even easier to setup and with better wireless performance that it's predecessors.  

To paraphrase an old adage, "when you sing into a venue's microphone, you're pressing your lips against every singer who's played there before you." That's one of the reasons why Katie Herzig brings her own Senneheiser e845S dynamic mic on the road. In other words: no, dude fronting opening band, this is not your chance to make out with Katie Herzig.  

Built for scientific measurement applications, the new Sennheiser MO 2000 Optical Microphone is unique in that it does not introduce an electro-magnetic field into the environment in which it is listening. You probably won't see it on stage or in a studio anytime soon (yes, David Bowie, that is an out-and-out challenge).  

Jackson Grimm from Horse-Drawn productions sings the praises of the Sennheiser 421, a mic he calls his favorite workhorse, which, at Horse-Drawn Production, is a statement that has serious animal rights implications.  

Seeming not to care who on the NAMM Ehxibitor's floor saw, the rep from Sennheiser gave their new large diaphragm stage condenser -- the Sennheiser e965 -- a thorough dressing down. You'd have thought we were in K-Mart or something.  

Winter NAMM 2009 will see the prophetic arrival of the HD 800 headphones, which Sennheiser compares to the Orpheus headphones. Audiophiles better get their checkbooks out, though, as this price tag aims to be worth every qualitative feature.  

Sennheiser will be making a shiny appearance at Winter NAMM 2009. They'll be showing off their chrome and color chrome mic customization options by chroming other things, like guitars and such. Watch out, or they might chrome you!  

While in Chicago, "White Spaces" refers to parking spots rendered unusable due to snow drifts, come February the phrase will have a whole new meaning for users of wireless audio equipment nationwide. Sennheiser has established a comprehensive rebate plan for users of wireless gear that operates in the soon-to-be-restricted 700 mHz band.  

Man, you thought being the lead singer of a rock band would help you stand out as an individual in the world, but boy were you wrong! You're gonna need to get some Sennheiser customizing Mic Skins, or people are just going to think you're some kind of trendy poseur.  

Sennheiser recently did something a little different in terms of their Evolution series by introducing a true condenser mic -- the Evolution e965. We thought it would be fair and teach both sides of the story: either Sennheiser built this microphone based on years and years of experience in the microphone industry, leading to improvements and new technologies up to this point, or Sennheiser willed this microphone to be in about a week or so.  

Bad news for crime show evildoers -- Sennheiser introduces their smallest lavalier microphone yet, the MKE 1. It has a 3.3 mm capsule that is water resistant due to its tiny size, so no more holding guns to informants' heads to short their wires out with their sweat -- you're going to just have to buckle down and paint your walls brain-red.  

Pop on your cap of choice and clip-on the Sennheiser MKE 1. It's a high-quality clip on lapel mic that's perfect for undercover applications, and it doesn't sweat sweat.  

Sennheiser's Evolution range had been lacking a large-diaphragm true condenser mic, but no longer! The Sennheiser e965 is already being marked by some as the line's new flagship, but then again, that's how evolution works.  

Mike Ward -- head sound engineer at Suncrest Christian Church -- invited GW to soundcheck to check out the church's compliment of condenser mics, and to let us in on the "Good News" about the Countryman e6i headworn omnidirectional wireless element.  

Like Journey's new lead singer Arnel Pineda, the differences between the Sennheiser e609 Silver and the Shure SM57 seem to be only skin-deep. That's right, if you close your eyes, both mics sound EXACTLY like Steve Perry.  

Allejandro, who does live sound for Dengue Fever, advises to bring some mics on the road with you. His Sennheiser MD 421 is like the utility infielder while a Shure Beta 87 usually gets the start on vocals.  

Sennheiser is looking for a sound logo, and they're opening everything up to the public. You've got five chances to impress Sennheiser with eight seconds of any sound that might be ear catching enough, but the competition is fierce.  

Britton and Bill are a little awestruck. They've just had their world rocked by the Moog Guitar, and that was only the tip of the iceberg that was day two of Summer NAMM 2008.  

It would be nice if all lead vocalists knew as much about microphones as trumpet player Jaimie Branch. She talks about microphones that she likes using in studio and mics that suit her trumpet well on stage in this segment.  

The New MZD 8000 module accommodates any MKH 8000 series capsule and turns it into a digital mic, providing analog to digital conversion at the capsule.  

There's nothing more exciting than a set of twin capsules, and Sennheiser makes switchable polar patterns interesting. Instead of switches, Sennheiser's MKH 800 uses a team of capsules -- each with their own output -- to record multiple polar possibilities at once.  

Sennheiser's new SR 350 IEM G2 twin wireless transmitter is more powerful than ever before. The output power can switch from 15 mW all the way to 100 mW for as much beef as you need to fit the size of your venue.  

The MKE 400 is a shotgun-style mic designed for use with consumer-grade digital camcorders. After much deliberation, the Sennheiser marketing team decided to refer to the diminutive mic as "mini" as opposed the more compelling, but ultimately too controversial descriptor "sawed-off."
