Should the planet ever be demolished to make way for an intergalactic bypass, at least Spectrasonics Trillian will retain a near-complete record of bass sounds and instruments of Earth origin. But seriously, I have no idea what it has to do with the character from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxie. Let's ask reviewer Marty Cutler, shall we?  

Software updates are in order for Spectrasonics' leading players. Registered users of the Trilian bass instrument may now upgrade to version 1.4, while Omnisphere synth users can now download version 1.5.5.  

It may seem overwhelming, but try and think of Spectrasonics Ominsphere 1.5 the same way Dr. Dealgood thinks about Thunderdome, i.e. "it's simple. . . you can't break any rules because there aren't any." Spectrasonics announced a couple of things that will benefit the Bob Moog Foundation: the Bob Moog Tribute Library, a sound library of more than 700 synth-artist-created sounds for Omnisphere; and the OMG-1 Synth Contest, in which a custom OMG-1 hardware synth will be awarded to one talented entrant who buys the library and uses the sounds to create the best piece of music.  

Spectrasonics updated its flagship Omnisphere synth to version 1.5, giving it a new "Orb" circular manipulation interface, new synthesis capabilities, a 5-Column Browser view, support for polyphonic Aftertouch, extra patches, and more.  

Next month, Spectrasonics will be releasing version 1.5 of its Omnisphere virtual synth, along with the new Omni TR iPad app to go with it. Omni TR turns an iPad into a multi-touch control surface for Omnisphere.

Spectrasonics announced a major software update for both the Omnisphere hybrid real-time synthesizer and Trilian bass module. Version 1.3 of both virtual instruments will feature real-time performance sync functions and many new sounds and capabilities.  

The free (for all Omnisphere users) Spectrasonics Omni Live application turns any Apple iPhone or iPod Touch into a wireless remote control for the Omnisphere soft synth.  

The 1.2 software update for Spectrasonics Omnisphere makes the virtual instrument a Native 64-bit plugin and also expands the factory library with more than 200 new Omnisphere patches.  

Spectrasonics Omnisphere and Trilian pair well together, now that Omnisphere has been updated to version 1.1. The update offers complete core library integration with Trilian, allowing you to open and edit Trilian sounds within Omnisphere.  

Ask for a trillion dollars and you probably won't get it; but ask for a Trillian instrument and you will, thanks to Spectrasonics' latest release. The Trillian virtual instrument is the updated version of the Trilogy bass module, and it integrates fully with Omnisphere.  

We talk to Diego Stocco, one of the mad scientists behind the recently released, long hyped Spectrasonics Omnisphere software synthesizer. This program is so in-depth that we probably could've just shot video on Omnisphere for the entire convention if we didn't have to show some love to any of the other companies.
