Toontrack Music and Time+Space announced that EZmix 2, the updated mixing plugin, will be released early next month. The new and improved EZmix plugin delivers more mix-ready effect chains, a revised user interface, new signal chain content, and more.  

Chris Pitman put his finishing touches on Toontrack's latest set of EZmix presets, the Alternative Rock EZmix Pack. The new preset pack features -- you guessed it -- alternative rock presets for guitars, basses, vocals, and more.  

Proving that MIDI drums can be hardcore, Toontrack released Library Of The Extreme – Fill Insanity -- a new collection of extreme metal drums performed by Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Scarve) for you to use in EZdrummer and Superior Drummer.

Toontrack Monster MIDI Pack 4 - Fills Odd Meters is a library of drum fills performed by studio drummer Peter Fredlander. This Monster MIDI suite packs in more than 450 individually played files, all ready to be dropped into any type of song, from pop and country to hard rock and metal.  

The ongoing trend towards vintage being repackaged as new is reinforcing the idea that nothing is really new under the sun. In spite of the fact that it is so, as far as musicians go, it appears that maintaining the old with new technology is something that is conceptually beautiful. The Toontrack usic Custom And Vintage SDX is one such case of a classic derived from classics being made new.
