Taylor NS24 Acoustic Guitars, The New (More) Affordable Nylon Option
Taylor Guitars is adding to their popular line of nylon stringed guitars, the NS series. The new NS24 has the feel of the other NS models but is now available at a loser price. The NS24e will retail for $1198 and the cutaway version, the NS24ce will run $1398.
Both guitars feature a Grand Auditorium shape, satin-finished Indian rosewood laminate back and sides,a Sitka spruce top, and a mahogany neck. Slotted pegheads are overlaid with Indian rosewood and the soundhole rosette features a geometrical pattern of Mexican cypress and Myrtle wood. The patented NT® neck features classical chrome tuners with cream buttons. The NS24s use classical-style fan bracing producing a clear, bright sound, with strong treble and notable sustain.
The two styles: a non-cutaway/electric in the NS24e, a first for Taylor, or as a cutaway/electric in the NS24ce. Both the NS24e and NS24ce feature Taylor's proprietary ES-T® under-saddle, single-source pickup. The ES-T picks up the individual elements of each string. The onboard pre-amp and the active controls found on Taylor's Expression System® (man is there a lot of proprietary stuff on Taylors guitars or WHAT?) provide clear and balanced articulation.

The NS24 is now part of a family of six nylon stringed models. These were first introduced in 2001 and designed with steel-string players in mind. The NS24s will be released in early August in the USA and in September internationally.
