TC Electronic Corona Chorus: New Chorus Effect Pedal With TonePrint

January 12, 2011
TC Electronic announced the new Corona Chorus, a guitar effect pedal featuring exclusive TonePrint artist sounds.

At Winter NAMM 2011, TC Electronic debuted the Corona Chorus, a new guitar effect pedal featuring exclusive TonePrint artist sounds. This chorus effect joins four other new TonePrint-carrying pedals: the Shaker Vibrato, Flashback Delay & Looper, Vortex Flanger, and Hall of Fame Reverb.

According to TC, the Corona Chorus is the go-to pedal for shimmering and warbly goodness. The Corona Chorus offers two different chorus settings -- the classic TC Electronic SCF pedal and a Tri-Chorus -- as well as a custom TonePrint setting. Said to handle any situation or musical style with flying colors, the Corona Chorus also includes stereo inputs and outputs for flexible set-up possibilities. Speed, Depth, Color, and Level controls allow for instant tweaking.

Compact, with easy battery access and high-grade components, the Shaker Vibrato pedal features TonePrint, along with a true bypass, an analog-dry-through design, and more.

TonePrint is a new feature that provides instant access to the sounds of our most loved guitar heroes. According to the manufacturer, TonePrint isn’t just a static preset, it’s a complete re-tuning of the pedal including the sound and how the pots react. In developing TonePrint, TC Electronic collaborated with world-renowned guitarists such as John Petrucci, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Joe Perry, Orianthi, and Doug Aldrich, to name a few. More TonePrints from other guitarists will be added in the future.

A simple USB cable connects these pedals to any PC or Mac, and each pedal is capable of holding one TonePrint at a time. The concept, however, is unlimited, so you can swap TonePrints as many times as you like. All of the custom-made TonePrints can be downloaded from TC Electronic’s Web site for free.

Corona Chorus features:

  • Three chorus types
  • Speed, Depth, Color, and Level controls
  • TonePrint guitar tones right out of the box
  • True bypass
  • Analog dry-through -- no conversion of dry signals, for transparency and zero latency
  • Lots of headroom -- pedal accepts instrument as well as line level / FX loop signals
  • One-screw battery access for fast battery changes
  • Compact size

TonePrint at a glance:

  • Sounds created via collaboration, not emulation -- tuned by some of the world’s best guitar players
  • More TonePrints from different artists to come in the future
  • Simple USB-based tone transfer
  • Available as free downloads
  • Unlimited use -- swap TonePrints as many times you want

TC Electronic will begin shipping the new Corona Chorus pedal in February, 2011 for $177 (MSRP). Learn more at tcelectronic.com.
