TC Electronic PolyTune Software Update: Polyphonic Tuner Gets Drop-D Tuning Support
Users of the recently released TC Electronic PolyTune polyphonic guitar tuner can now download a free software update that provides the unit with Drop-D tuning.
The PolyTune eliminates the need to tune a guitar or bass one string at at time. With the PolyTune, guitarists or bassists can simply strum all strings at once to get an instant read on their intonation. The software update provides the PolyTune with support for Drop-D tuning -- a key new feature that makes tuning even easier for "hard-riffing" players who like to drop the lower E-string down to D. For switching between standard tuning and Drop-D, just press and hold the footswitch for two seconds.
The software update also includes a new Capo mode that compensates when a capo is being used. All PolyTune users may download the update for free from TC Electronic’s Web site. Installation is done via the PolyTune’s USB port; just connect the pedal to a computer and upload the new software version.
In addition to simultaneous tuning capabilities, the PolyTune boasts a chromatic tuner with +/- 0.5 cent accuracy. MonoPoly, another TC Electronic technology, recognizes whether you play one or more strings and automatically switches between the polyphonic or the chromatic tuner.
The PolyTune is visible in any light, or lack thereof, thanks to its ambient light sensor, which automatically matches the intensity of the bright LEDs to its surroundings. This sensor ensures that the PolyTune display can be seen in any lighting condition, making the PolyTune visible and useable outside during day or night, indoors on dark stages, or in between sets while the lights are dimmed or off.

Nicely done! Beside this, I
Nicely done! Beside this, I have also read about your new DJ Software Controller. Its features sound really good, although I stick to my former opinion. This tool is great for someone who is training to become a DJ. I have read about software versions of other controller tools being able to work on four and even six decks during the same mixing process. However, I like the multiple playlist management system and the virtual DJ software. Plus I think the PolyTune software goes hand in hand with the controller.
TC Electronic PolyTune
TC Electronic PolyTune polyphonic tuner is, in my opinion, one of the coolest tools out there for guitarists and bassists. Getting a good pedal tuner should take precedence over buying any other stompbox, and the PolyTune’s amazing accuracy, bright readout, and super-handy—and truly revolutionary—polyphonic tuning capabilities make it one of the clear winners in the pedal-tuner arena. But TC Electronic isn’t content to rest on their laurels, as evidenced by the company’s new PolyTune Mini—essentially a standard PolyTune model that’s shrunken for the space-conscious player.
