TC Electronic System 6000 MKII And Loundness Metering: The Whole Radar Range (Video)

November 16, 2010
TC Electronic System 6000 MKII, Loudness Meters

You may think that the "loudness authority" should be one who's just plain louder that everyone else. Well you're wrong. TC Electronic, as the new and self-proclaimed "loudness authority" is actually concerned with mitigating loudness in broadcast and streaming audio.

In compliance with the U.S. CALM Act, recently passed by the Senate, TC Electronic's range of radar-style loudness meter plugins and standalone products will hopefully prove effective in ending the loudness wars. In this video from the 129th AES show, TC Group's Steve Strasburg leads a tour through the various loudness metering offerings from the company, including the TC Electronic LM2 Rackmount meter, the TM9 standalone desktop unit, and the plugin for the newly upgraded System 6000 MKII outboard effects processing hardware.
