TC Electronic TM7 And TM9 Software Update: LM6 Algorithm Provides Dual Radar Display
With the TM7 / TM9 software update from TC Electronic, owners of the TC TouchMonitor TM7 or TM9 will get double the radar, double the fun.
The TC TouchMonitor TM7 and TM9 is a full-featured stereo and multichannel loudness and true-peak level meter ideal for broadcast ingest and transmission, as well as post, film, and live production. To comply with a given international broadcasting standard, the numbers representing loudness are paramount, and these all-important digits are displayed instantly on the large color touch screen, TC Electronic says.
With the optional LM6 algorithm installed, you can load two independent Radar meters simultaneously on your TC TouchMonitor TM7 or TM9. Having the LM6 algorithm installed opens a number of configurations. For example, TC notes that it is possible to let one Radar meter instance display a pre-processing signal while the other instance shows a post-processing signal, and both can be monitored at the same time for a complete audio overview. As another example, you might have two Radar meters display both a stereo and a 5.1 signal simultaneously, or two stereo or two 5.1 signals. Both instances also provide 24-hour history for the audio being monitored.
Other instruments have been updated for this software release as well. According to the manufacturer, it is now possible to run multiple instances of the Surround Sound Analyzer; the onscreen help feature has been improved as has the general UI expeience with enhanced mouse sensitivity and new slider functions; and other features have been improved to provide better stability and performance.
The TC TouchMonitor TM7 and TM9 is TC's loudness meter solution, featuring a touch screen, a consistent loudness readout, and compatibility with American, European, and Japanese broadcasting standards.
