Five new TonePrints created in collaboration between TC Electronic and ProGuitarShop.com are now available from the TC Electronic Web site. These TonePrints were created by ProGuitarShop.com’s gear reviewer, Andy Martin.

TonePrints are artist-created sounds developed for TC Electronic's new guitar effect pedals (the Hall of Fame Reverb, Corona Chorus, Flashback Delay & Looper, Vortex Flanger, and the Shaker Vibrato). TonePrints provide instant access to the sounds of our most loved guitar heroes -- this time, the sounds are coming from Andy Martin. According to the manufacturer, TonePrint isn’t just a static preset, it’s a complete re-tuning of the pedal including the sound and how the pots react.

A USB cable connects these pedals to any PC or Mac, and each pedal is capable of holding one TonePrint at a time. The concept, however, is unlimited, so you can swap TonePrints as many times as you like. All of the custom-made TonePrints can be downloaded from TC Electronic’s Web site for free.

Martin made TonePrints for all five pedals in the series, starting with the Flashback Delay, which he made into a true recreation of the classic Maestro EchoPlex EP-3. As TC Electronic points out, Martin is a long time EchoPlex user, and the Flashback Delay presents a faithful reproduction of that classic sound.

The Vortex Flanger pedal brought out the Led Zeppelin fan in Martin, and he went for a faithful tape flange tone, something the Vortex Flanger excels at. For this TonePrint he used three flangers to get a true flanger sound that will appeal to any fan of classic rock.

For the Hall of Fame Reverb effect, Martin created a TonePrint that carries a huge cathedral sound, which TC says will accommodate shoe-gazers and ambient sounds perfectly. This TonePrint is tweakable and ranges from dark and warm to bright with high presence. Likewise, for the Shaker Vibrato TonePrint, Martin created a versatile, lush-sounding chorus TonePrint.

For the Corona Chorus, Martin made a dual chorus that stands between a standard warbly chorus and a more diffuse tri-chorus. According to TC Electronic, the dual chorus will take you anywhere from classic '80s chorus sounds to more swirly leslie-type tones and anywhere in between.

About the release of these new TonePrints, Martin comments, "When I first got my hands on the TonePrint pedals, I immediately understood how great the TonePrint concept could be. And after I got to play around with the different artist settings, the feeling of ‘this is going to be big’ only grew. I knew we had to be part of it, so we contacted TC Electronic to see what we could do. Next thing I know, I’m on a plane to Denmark to do my own TonePrints! I’m very proud of the results and am sure TonePrint users will love them too."

In addition to these TonePrints, ProGuitarShop.com and TC Electronic have collaborated in the past on a limited edition of TC Electronic’s flagship G-System.
