Peace Love Productions - got loops?

TC-Helicon VoiceLive Touch Ships: Vocal Processor With VLOOP And More

November 10, 2010
TC-Helicon VoiceLive Touch vocal processor is now shipping with the VLOOP looper, vocal effects, touch screen, and more.

Vocal effects are at your fingertips, now that TC-Helicon has begun shipping its VoiceLive Touch vocal processor. The VoiceLive Touch features an integrated mic stand mount and interface, the VLOOP performance vocal looper, a touch-sensitive interface (hence the product's name), the same effects engine as the VoiceLive 2, and much more.

With the vocal processor's touch interface, you can change sounds on the fly by tapping or swiping the unit's smooth surface preset slider. You can also search by genre through hundreds of sounds, or assemble a whole song with your voice by creating loops.

VLOOP adds intuitive looping features for both singers and guitarists alike; you can use the looping features by touching the VoiceLive Touch's screen of course, or you can do the same from the floor via the optional Switch-3 footswitch. According to the manufacturer, you can get rapid access to common loop features such as overdub, undo, and multiply; and tap into the performance looping modes to create up to 25 separate loops with instant undo / redo, single shot mode, and more.

In addition, the VoiceLive Touch uses the same effects engine as the company's VoiceLive 2. The new unit allows you to re-create effects from your favorite songs, store custom sounds in one of the 25 Favorite slots for easy recall, and more. The VoiceLive Touch also has the same "intelligent" features found on VoiceLive 2, such as Adaptive Tone and NaturalPlay Harmony.

Main features for the new vocal processor:

  • VLOOP performance vocal looping
  • Includes effects such as HardTune, µMod, tap delay, reverb, harmony, doubling, and transducer
  • Instant touch interface with bright, easy to read, scrolling display
  • Global Tone feature tailors adaptive EQ, compression, and de-ess to your voice
  • 8 Voices of NaturalPlay harmonies controlled by guitar, MIDI, or USB / Aux input
  • Voicing buttons offer instant harmony arranging
  • Design allows mic attachment and desktop use for easy access
  • Talk button bypasses all effects, so you talk with the audience
  • 25 Favorites allow you to store and recall your customized effects quickly
  • Aux input for your MP3 player
  • MIDI In to control harmony
  • 3-Button footswitch input for extra control
  • Studio quality mic input
  • Headphone output with level control
  • Guitar In and Thru
  • USB for audio I/O and connection to VoiceSupport for preset management, tips and tricks, and software updates

Whatever your stage identity is, there is a place for the VoiceLive Touch. Singers can mount the VoiceLive Touch on a microphone stand, while keyboard vocalists can mount it next to their instrument. Guitarists can add the optional Switch-3 for combined foot pedal and touch control, and computer musicians can place it on their desktops.

TC-Helicon's VoiceLive Touch is now available for $695 (MSRP). For more details, visit tc-helicon.com.

The unit seems to be built

The unit seems to be built very well. The only thing that worries me slightly is the touch interface. I've seen stuff like this go swanky before, but I presume TC would have made sure this was good and sturdy as well. I guess only time will tell.
