TC-Helicon VoiceTone Correct XT Ships: Vocal Production Pedal Released

January 07, 2011
TC-Helicon has released VoiceTone Correct XT, a vocal-production pedal with real-time sound shaping tools and vocal effects.

At long last, TC-Helicon has begun shipping the VoiceTone Correct XT, a vocal-production pedal that offers singers real-time sound shaping tools and vocal effects.

The VoiceTone Correct XT features the Adaptive Dynamics control, which combines with de-essing and Adaptive Shape EQ to ensure bright and smooth vocal performances and tone, no matter what vocal style is used. In addition to Adaptive Dynamics, the new pedal features TC-Helicon’s Adaptive Tone technology, which makes it possible for EQ and Dynamics to automatically adapt to suit a wide range of vocal material.

Adaptive Tone technology intelligently adjusts Shape EQ and Dynamics (compression and de-essing) to provide the the right vocal tone balance. The vocal pedal additionally includes an adaptive gate that can be added to clean up noise as well as to help suppress feedback.

The VoiceTone Correct XT also delivers an auto-chromatic pitch correction tool that helps you to sing in tune, regardless of what key or scale you are singing in.

According to TC-Helicon, Correct XT contains a host of improvements over its predecessor, making it a "one-stop vocal processing shop" for anyone who needs smooth, pro vocal tone with the added security of active anti-feedback. Unlike other units' anti-feedback technology, says TC-Helicon, the VoiceTone Correct XT doesn’t require any pre-calibration in a quiet room before the gig.

VoiceTone Correct XT features:

  • Adaptive gate gently reduces background noise when no input signal detected
  • Balanced XLR input / output
  • USB connection to free VoiceSupport application that offers tips, tricks, and updates
  • Multiband anti-feedback stays on alert for feedback and clamps it automatically and quickly
  • Individual controls allow quick and precise adjustment
  • Auto-chromatic pitch correction requires no key or scale
  • Advanced controls alter Shape EQ and dynamic response to best suit singing style if desired
  • Pitch correction on/off footswitch independent of tone shaping
  • Studio quality mic preamp with phantom power
  • Instrument input can be used as a convenient balanced XLR, DI output
  • Connects easily with other VoiceTone pedals to define personal effect chain
  • Correction on and off can be done from the optional MP-75 microphone

Now shipping, the TC-Helicon VoiceTone Correct XT is available for $345 (MSRP).

Helicon Voice correction

By: Ben Doan (not verified)

Very quick and simple box for live use. Not quite as good as the pro plug-in on your studio computer, but it really does the job in a portable setup. As with all pitch correction, feed a straight signal to your monitor or you'll go nuts trying to sing while the correction is running.
