TC Electronic Classic450: "Bass-ic" Needs In A Simple Package With A Very Sophisticated Design

July 09, 2009
TC Electronic Classic450 Bass Amp

Bass players have two "bassic" needs: tone and power. Give that bassist a good clear tone and a powerful punch, and that would be all that he/she needs to keep your band pumped up and grooving; everything else he can have is ornamental. Though TC Electronic may be known for being a very sophisticated maker of musical equipment, they have decided to go classically bassic with the Classic450, and they are now shipping these things out.

The Classic450 is a bass amplifier that offers easy access to a wide array of tones that any bassist might desire. The versatile vintage tone control section is all that the bassist will need to shape his sound. The Classic450 is guaranteed to deliver that desired tone via TC Electronic's Tubetone and multiband SpectraComp technology, which is incorporated into the Classic450's design. Tubetone emulates the characteristics of a tube preamp and power amp for that full tube sound. SpectraComp, on the other hand, virtually permits "per-string" compression to even out the compression across all strings for that punchy sound that gives "oomph" to bass.

Delivering 450 watts of power via Class D amplifier technology in combination with TC Electronic's Active Power Management, the Classic450 can deliver that maximum impact and behaves like a tube amp at full power. The input section caters both active and passive basses, and its fully transformer-balanced line driver output (with a pre/post tone control switch) enables the Classic450 to reproduce its tone perfectly whether in live or recording use.
