TC Electronic Desktop Konnekt 6: Compact Interface Makes IMPACT
TC Electronic's Konnekt family expands with the Desktop Konnekt 6, a compact interface mainly for home studio use that delivers all of the various features you've come to expect from TC Electronic.
The Desktop Konnekt 6 takes monitor control seriously. The direct monitor knob controls the direct monitor levels right from the top panel. With the nearby DIM switch and MONO switch, you can control your monitors blindfolded if you have to.
You also have access to Scene selection to store independent "setups" like the default examples of microphone and guitar, two guitars, or a stereo line signal. The new control panel gives users control over the M40 Studio Reverb as well.
Desktop Konnekt 6 also features a conveniently big volume knob -- makes sense since it'll probably get the most use. A high resolution meter offers precise information about your levels as well to keep you from clipping. And also for convenience, reverb is available as part of your monitor mix. It is also controllable from the top of the Desktop Konnekt.
The I/O section on the Desktop Konnekt 6 is pretty luxurious considering the size of the unit. The headphone output has its own amplifier and even a separate converter so that you can mix differently between your headphones and monitor speakers. The feature that TC is the most proud of is the IMPACT mic preamp. They claim you'll notice the difference once you plug your microphone into it.
Finally, you've got the hall, room, and plate reverbs of the included M40 studio reverb. Its powered by AlgoFlex.
