TC Electronic PolyTune Pedal: Guitar Tuner Features Polyphonic And Chromatic Tuning

January 19, 2010
TC Electronic PolyTune is a polyphonic guitar tuner that lets you can tune all guitar strings simultaneously.

Thanks to TC Electronic and the new PolyTune ($149 MSRP) polyphonic guitar tuner, you can tune all guitar strings simultaneously. According to the manufacturer, you simply strum and the unit will tell you which strings need tuning, eliminating the need to tune each string individually and then match it to all the other strings.

The PolyTune also has a chromatic tuner featuring +/- 0.5 cent accuracy, as well as MonoPoly technology that recognizes whether you play one or more strings and automatically switches between the polyphonic or the chromatic tuner. True Bypass allows for the signal to flow unaffected when the pedal is bypassed and also allows for silent tuning once engaged.

In addition, the PolyTune has a 9V DC Out for powering other pedals, easy access to the battery compartment, and dropped tunings from E-flat down to B. The tuner works with both guitar and bass.

On the exterior, the PolyTune's ambient light sensor automatically matches the intensity of the LEDs to its surroundings, so that you can see display in any lighting condition. The PolyTune pedal chassis features a diecast aluminum box, heavy duty footswitch, and a 100-LED display.

TC Electronic will begin shipping the PolyTune in February, 2010.

Lazy enough?

By: Mattie

Ive been playing guitar for over ten years and it pisses me off that whenever you walk into guitar center/ samash this is what they're teaching. Guitar players are lazy enough. They dont need self tuning guitars. Why doesnt TC make a product that can teach kids to stop being so damn lazy. Half the guitar players cant even set their own intonation or neck tension/relief. I got an idea!!!!! how about a speak and spell to teach these kids theory?!?! Or wait.....thats not cool anymore. unless you wrap it in tight pants and EMGS.

Not the right topic......

By: Stephen

While I agree with everything you said. This is not a self tuning guitar. It's just another pedal tuner with an extra function....showing the accuracy of each string according to the programed pitches at the same time. Not lazy, quick. That's a good thing for live shows.
Yes, EMG's suck, yes theory is incredibly important, yes guitar center and sam ash suck, yes intonation is important, but you're off topic.
