TC Electronic RebelHead 450: With A RebelHead, You Get More, More, More
January 30, 2009
One of the more interesting announcements at Winter NAMM 2009 -- for me anyway -- was the TC Electronic RebelHead 450. "TC Electronic doing a bass head?" I said to myself aloud to no one in particular looking like a bit of a crazy person, "that's crazy-talk!"
Crazy-talk or no, the new RebelHead 450 has some pretty cool features, which we learned about from the well-coiffed TC Group booth staff. Seriously, they all had really good hair.

Overall
Totally digital amp??? Well, I wouldn't say...
I think the sample should be played clean, without any effects, with digital effects you can't hear anything about the amp itself.
Good thing is that it has at least semi if not full parametric EQ, which is the best option for amps, you can set it colored or uncolored whatever you like and need. The presets are not bad idea, but i think analog EQ it's better for this kind of equipment.
The guy also mentioned a woofer?! Full range speaker is full range speaker.
Not the best audio sample of the amp
We're going to try and get one in studio. The sound you here in this video is not what I heard plugged into the headphone out jack of the RebelHead -- what you're hearing is out camera's preamps overloading: our bad. I was actually impressed by how unique the amp's clean tone sounded -- very piano-like and almost technicolor with the Stingray. Unfortunately I missed the boat on their "Test Pilot" program. . . ahh well.
