Teenage Engineering OP-1: So Close To Production We Can Taste It. And It Tastes Like Awesome (Video)
We first reported on the Teenage Engineering OP-1 almost two years ago and we wondered if the thing would be old enough to drive before it started shipping. Thankfully Teenage Engineering has announced that the OP-1 portable synthesizer is near shipping, so we felt OK about getting video footage of the OP-1 in near-complete form and letting you slather over some of the newest added sequencer modes and modules.
In particular, in this video we take a look at the OP-1's built-in FM tuner, an awesome and unending source of raw audio for you to then throw into the synth's effects-grinder. There's also this crazy new sequencer / randomizer called tumbler which features a graphical user interface that resembles a bingo-ball drum; controls include "spin rate" and "gravity." Man this thing is cool.
