Time + Space Sampled Landscape, Time + Space Retro Flute: Jethro Tull Goes Camping
Picture this: a middle-aged man, wearing a pinstripe suit of silk-cotton blend and a feather-adorned fedora, frolicking in the early morning mists of an antediluvian wood, surrounded by naught but gargantuan oaks and scurrying titmice as he blows sweet, lonely trills on a Flûte d'amour. Can you hear it? If you had the two new sample collections from Time + Space you would -- they're called Sampled Landscapes and Retro Flute.
Sampled Landscapes (produced by Bela D Media) was built with film and television composers in mind, specifically those looking to create moody, atmospheric soundtracks. As such, the collection is made up of a diverse collection of ethnic instruments and atmospheric sounds, including meditative flutes, Tibetan bowls, bells, whispering winds, atmospheric percussion, ethereal voices, mantras and more.
Retro Flute (produced by Eduardo Tarilonte) is targeted towards a radically different audience (though I think I've proved above that there is some demographic overlap -- specifically me). This multisampled virtual flute is a highly detailed instrument, with a number of stylized performance options that make it perfectly suited for jazz-fusion (though you'll certainly be able to use it in classical, cinematic or pop projects as well. . . remember that old adage: jazz-fusion NEVER pays). playing variants include sustained straight tone & vibrato, sung style (that "Tull" thing), various staccato options, repetitions, overlaying options, player breath noise, key noise, slide down, runs, flutter, mordent (perfect for hobbit-fusion), half and whole tone trills.
Both collections are designed for use with the Kontakt player (versions 2 or 3) and sampled at 24-bit/44.1kHz. Sampled Landscape costs $209 US and Retro Flute is priced at $109.95 US.
