Tonehammer Ends, Launches 50% Off Last Chance Sale On Sample Libraries

July 18, 2011
Tonehammer announced the end of its company and the launch of two new ones: Soundiron and 8Dio.

Say goodbye to Tonehammer and hello to two new companies: Soundiron and 8Dio. Yes that's right, Tonehammer announced its final days as a crazy, zany sample library-producing company.

About this announcement, Tonehammer writes, "Essentially we've decided to take sampling in different directions, which means you will have even more and diverse sample catalogs to choose from. Tonehammer will cease to exist on August 1, 2011. All Tonehammer sample libraries, however, will be carried forward by two new separate companies: Soundiron (by Mike Peaslee) and 8Dio (by Troels Folmann).

The two companies will officially re-launch all Tonehammer products on August 1st, and all current owners of Tonehammer products will continue to receive full and ongoing support for all libraries purchased from Tonehammer. More details will be released as Tonehammer reaches its expiration date.

In less than three years, Tonehammer has produced over 80 sound libraries, offering the sampled sounds of everything from epic choirs to nail bites, human trumpets to helium choirs, grand pianos to guitars, zombie invasions to music made with bees, and everything in between.

To thank its customers for their support over the years, Tonehammer is going out with a bang, offering 50 percent off its most popular products. For the next two weeks, you can stock up on sample libraries and do so at a major discount.

The following products can be purchased at 50 percent off their regular prices until July 31, 2011, at tonehammer.com:

  • Emotional Piano
  • Plucked Piano
  • Bowed Piano
  • Epic Tom Ensemble
  • Alien Drum
  • Bamblong
  • Circlebells
  • Cylindrum

All customers who purchase any item at tonehammer.com from July 15th until July 31st will also receive a free copy of Tonehammer's new (and final) library, Cathedral of Junk. According to the maker, this sample library is a symphony of tuned scrap and found sounds captured at (and including) one of the most unique pieces of living art / architecture Tonehammer has ever seen.

The 440 MB features 20 unique instrument sets, plus a large bonus collection of evolving ambient drone instruments. To get it, order any item in the online store and the company will send you a free discount code for Cathedral of Junk, which expires on July 31st.
