Tonehammer Small Epic Percussion: Small Toys Always Have A Place In The Orchestra's Kitchen

June 30, 2009
Tonehammer Small Epic Percussion

The triangle has been maligned for generations (mostly by television and other media) as the instrument for idiots. You'll always see this scene of a person on TV trying out instruments to no avail and ends up playing a triangle just to make it in the band's lineup. Little do people know, however, that playing these small percussion instruments can be the most difficult and demanding of all, requiring needlepoint accuracy and precision; play a triangle badly in an orchestra and it messes up the whole effect the symphony you're playing should convey, earning you the ire of the conductor (and probably the whole orchestra) in return. Giving the well-deserved respect small percussion merits, the release of Tonehammer Small Epic Percussion will seal the importance of these percussion instruments in your mind.

Small Epic Percussion is a massive 1.6 GB collection of small orchestral and ethnic percussion samples, all of which have been captured in the same epic hall and using the same techniques as in Tonehammer's Epic Dohl Tom, and other wet libraries making Small Epic Percussion a complementary addition. This collection also stands as unique toolbox of under-appreciated yet commonly called for instruments, such as the tambourine and finger cymbals. Not only did the sampling process involve rendering all instruments depth, the process also called for thing about new ways on how to play them. Expect to hear unorthodox articulations as well as a few strange combinations and mutations that the developer hopes will inspire users.
