Making its way to consumers with shoddily recorded drum tracks everywhere, Toontrack announces the shipment of Drumtracker. It's a standalone multi-track audio to MIDI converter that steps up to the task of replacing drum sounds with other, hopefully better sounds.

Drumtracker has filters at your disposal to detect common instruments and choose the velocity threshold where replacement should occur. You can save your filter presets to save time, just like on the hit network TV show Heroes. Drumtracker also allows you to select which drum parts of a track to convert hit by hit. In addition to manipulating filters, you can change velocities or delete, add and move trigger points throughout your track.

When you're primed to replace the parts, you can use Drumtracker's built-in sample library to audition the sounds you're swapping in. Then, convert the rendered MIDI to your drum sampler's mapping system and voila -- instant drum replacement!
