The ongoing trend towards vintage being repackaged as new is reinforcing the idea that nothing is really new under the sun. In spite of the fact that it is so, as far as musicians go, it appears that maintaining the old with new technology is something that is conceptually beautiful. The Toontrack usic Custom And Vintage SDX is one such case of a classic derived from classics being made new.  

Toontrack, after all this time making acoustic drum and percussion sample libraries, has turned another direction to go electronic. Toontrack Music Electronic EZX is the first of its kind being released by Toontrack.  

Summer is a good time for musicians on a limited budget to expand their tools. With the announement of the Toontrack August 2009 EZX Mania promo, summer deals are still on for the month of August.  

Some people have always thought that most toys (such as gamepads, plastic keyboards, and the like) could never make a cut into serious professional music work. Toontrack's EZplayer Pro software is a MIDI organizer that does more than organize. Percussively-minded, EZplayer Pro allows users to use it to create new drum grooves by combining elements found in preexisting files.  

We already showed you Erik Byrne's drum kit, which he fitted with electronic triggers so he could play quietly. Now, Erik shows us the software he uses to make his hits sound acoustic again.  

Toontrack's new Solo is a standalone application that hosts Toontrack's samplers (like dfh Superior and dfh EZdrummer) for purposes like jamming with a friend or a loop and live performance.
