Hot Hand Takes Off The Handcuffs
The Hot Hand (covered in Gearwire back in Jan '06) is a guitar effects system built around a unique gestural controller worn as a ring on the user's finger. Similar to the Nintendo Wii, the Hot Hand takes naturalistic motion input from the motion of the user's hand to modulate and control effects.
New for NAMM will be the wireless version of the Hot Hand (making it even more Wii-like), a development that maker Source Audio says was created "so that guitarists can manipulate effects tailored to their particular playing style and also create new sounds without being limited by traditional floor-mounted pedal effects. This new approach to controlling effects also opens up the possibility for a whole new level of physical expression and showmanship in live performances. The movement of the hand or body when playing becomes the expression pedal."
