MusikMesse Video: Trace-Elliot 715 Combo Amp
April 13, 2007
Achtung! In this basstastic video shot live from the floor of MusikMesse 2007 in Frankfurt, we get some audio out of the Trace-Elliot 715 bass combo amplifier courtesy of a German gentleman who did not tell us his name - he merely strapped on a 5-string Yamaha TRB1000 (we think) and began to slap it as if it had done him wrong. The blitzkreig continues in a nu-metal vibe toward the end. While we didn't get direct output, you can get a sense of the range of the 715 from this Gearwire video.
Get more information about the Trace-Elliot 715 amplifier at the official Trace-Elliot website.

If you see/hear the video above then that's all that needs to be said.
I recently bought the 715 because I needed a small bass combo. The price was great too--got it via mail order for less than 400 U.S. dollars. I had been looking at the Roland Cube 100, Markbass and G&K combos. I liked each one. All were exceptionally portable and had nice features. I admired the unique look of the Roland and the Markbass. Both the Markbass and G&K claimed big power while the Cube boasted presets and added features. But in the end I wanted U.K. quality with mid-range power and controls that work.
