The hot news lately includes the Native Instruments updated Traktor Scratch 1.1, including support for seven-inch control vinyl. Very sweet for those of us who love seven-inches and still have a big pile of them stashed but not converted to digital. If nothing else, seven-inch control is fun to play with.

For those unfamiliar with Traktor Scratch, the heart of this pro DJ gear is the Scratch Audio 8 interface.

Audio 8 is the middleman between your laptop, your sampler, control vinyl, CD decks, the club PA, etc. Audio 8 has eight ins/outs, MIDI I/O,1/4" headphone connector, and 20 status LEDs for full visual control.

Four hi-gain stereo outputs let you route 2 main decks routed from the Traktor software, plus two extra stereo outputs fed by Traktor Scratch’s send effects.

Audio 8 has Cirrus-Logic AD-DA converters, low latency drivers and hi-gain output levels on all channels. New Traktor licenses are around $700 and include AUDIO 8 DJ hardware, DJ Software based on Traktor 3, Traktor Scratch multi-core cables, and much more.
