U-he DIVA 1.0 – Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue: New Virtual Synth Introduced
There's a new dinosaur in town and this one says rawr, or something like that. U-he has announced the release of version 1.0 of DIVA – Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue, a virtual analog synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.
DIVA‘s oscillators, filters, and envelopes were designed to model electronic components found in some of the the most revered monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers of yesteryear. Since DIVA modules can be mixed and matched, you can use all of DIVA's little quirks to build hybrids of your favorite classics.
According to u-he, what really sets DIVA apart from other virtual instruments is its authentic analog sound. U-he notes further that DIVA is the first Native software synth that applies methods used in industrial circuit simulators (PSpice, for example) in real-time.
DIVA for Windows and Mac (VST / AU) includes more than 1,200 presets and will be fully functional (and free in Demo mode) until December 31, 2011. Starting January 1st, the Demo version of DIVA will no longer run perfectly (you will notice a mild crackle and you will receive constant reminders to visit u-he online and purchase the upgrade). As u-he says, DIVA – Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue will serve as your ideal distraction for the holidays.
Until January 15, 2012, the "divine" version of u-he DIVA – Dinosaur Impersonating Virtual Analogue -- meaning, the version that you pay for -- will be available for the introductory price of $119 instead of the regular price of $179. Support for Pro Tools and / or FXpansion adapter is planned for Spring 2012.
