Although you may not usually run a drum loop through a plug of this kind, it is interesting to see what kind of effects you can get from doing it. The LA2A slow and smooth style of limiting usually lends itself to vocals or bass but there are no hard and fast rules about it so I decided to try it out. This video might best be viewed alongside the similar video I did with the UAD LA3A so check it out if you get the chance. The comparison of how different designs of an optical compressor, (in this case the tube LA2A and the transistor LA3A can yield vastly different effects) is quite telling.
