UAD Neve 1073 Equalizer On A Drum Loop

November 07, 2007
Neve 1073

EQing drum loops is a great way to get a little more life out of them. The UAD Neve 1073 is a great tool when it comes to shaping the sound of pretty much any loop. In this video Dan walks us through the ins and outs of using this tool on a loop from the Drumcore library.

Make sure to stay tuned for more videos on the UAD plug-ins including more videos featuring the Neve 1073 here at Gearwire.

Dan, would you consider doing a camparison of the UAD Neve 1073 and the free Modern Plugin VE73. Antress just added 4 Neve emulations to their lineup and I would like your honest opinion of the 73. I have done a few tests using drumloops and some guitar tracks I recorded and I am impressed with the Antress VE73. I don't have UAD and since the VE73 is free I would appreciate if you might take the time (since you already have UAD)...no pressure, just interested in your opinion...you da man!!! Thanks

Hey Blindeddie. I'll definitely give that a try when I get the chance. Perhaps I'll do an eq shootout in my next group of videos. Thanks for the comment.

Antress plugins

I thought I was the only one! I also tested the VE73 EQ from Antress on acoustic guitars and I was very impressed by the results. Not only an EQ shootout, a compressor shootout including the Antress emulations would be very welcome. By the way, congratulations for Gearwire, I check it out every day, very good stuff!!

buffering

Nice vids Dan! Suprised that the card would introduce delay from passing thru the cards buffer? I thought the point of installing the dedicated card was to eliminate or reduce CPU load? Right now, if I send to a native VST compressor, I have no delay problems. If I buy this card, can I expect to run into more problems like this... or is this a symptom related to Sonar, or your particular PC? Are you going to do any extensive testing to see how far you can push the card, how many plug-ins can you load simultaneous?
