Ueberschall's 3.3 GB Planet Trance (Mac / Win) sample collection features 30 construction kits and nearly 1,500 loops and samples constructed by Marc Steinmeier, who has worked, produced, and remixed for Universal Music, EMI Electrola, and Sony / BMG. This sample library covers the trance genre from its early days in the 1990s to the present, and includes drums, percussion, deep basses, synth sounds, atmospheric pads, strings, pianos, and sound effects.

Each of the 30 construction kits is grouped into several sub folders. The Intro / Outro folder includes, as one would assume, the matching intro / outro track for the construction kit. The Main Kit folder offers the main theme, with all of its sounds and phrases. Next, the Variation Kit provides an alternative track, plus phrases that are used to add contrast and extension to the main theme; some Kits provide more than one variation for further flexibility, notes Ueberschall. Lastly, the Drum Shots folder includes single-shots, also known as one-shots, that add additional drumming and percussive rhythms to your tracks.

To make assembling a track a simple process, all samples are labeled with key signature and tempo information so that you can find a song or groove that will match your current projects. And for additional convenience, Planet Trance comes with Elastik Player, which offers numerous DSP functions such as high-speed time-stretching and pitch-shifting algorithms, save functions for single or complete audio files of original and modified loops, mapping tools (automatic slice- and chromatic-map), multiple content management, LoopEye for fast loop variations, and more. Elastik Player comes included with the sample library.
