New from Ueberschall is Planet Trance (Mac / Win; EUR 99), a completely trance soundbank for the Elastik Player (included).

The 3.3 GB collection offers 30 construction kits of trance sounds from the mid 1990s to the present. You'll get harmonies, melodies, and atmospheric pads along with a numerous instrument hits from drums, percussion, basses, synthesizers, strings, pianos, and more. In total, the soundback includes 1,470 loops and samples.

Each construction kit can be deconstructed into different categories: Intro / Outro, Main Kit, Variation Kit, or Drum Shots. Intro / Outro houses the construction kit's matching intro / outro track; the Main Kit includes the main theme with all of its sounds and phrases; the Variation Kit provides alternative tracks and phrases that add contrast and extension to the main theme; and the Drum Shots category is where you would find single-shots and percussive sounds.

Using the displayed key signature and tempo information, it's easy to find a song or groove within Planet Trance. What's more, the Elastik Player provides all the DSP functions you need to customize the songs once you locate them. Elastik Player features highspeed timestretching and pitchshifting algorithms, save features for saving single or complete audio files of original and modified loops, mapping tools (automatic slice- and chromatic-map), multiple content management, and the LoopEye function that coordinates fast loop variations.
