Universal Audio To Work With SPL And Brainworx, Create Plugins For UAD-2 Powered Plug-Ins Platform
Sound Performance Lab (SPL) and Brainworx are working with Universal Audio to become 3rd party audio plugin developers for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform. This agreement marks the opening of the UAD DSP platform to select 3rd party developers via the software development kit (SDK).
The two German companies, SPL and Brainworx, are also working with Universal Audio to finalize a software development kit (SDK) that will allow other select developers of professional audio plugins to create software for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform, as well as sell these plugins via UA’s online store (uaudio.com/store.html).
SPL is a manufacturer of analog and digital audio signal processors for professional sound and music production. Some of its releases include the Vitalizer sound optimization processor, the Transient Designer, Atmos 5.1, Supra op-amps, and more.
Brainworx was founded in 1999, initially as a music production company. Brainworx currently runs several partnerships with other pro audio companies, the main partner being SPL, with Dirk Ulrich leading the SPL software team. Since 2008 Brainworx has released mastering and mixing plugins such as bx_digital V2, bx_XL, and bx_control.
About the companies' collaboration, Universal Audio's president, Matt Ward, comments, "We’re extremely happy to have two of the most innovative, and forward-looking brands in professional audio now developing software directly for the UAD platform."
