At long last, Universal Audio has released its Solid State Logic-authenticated SSL E Series Channel Strip and G Series Bus Compressor plugins for the UAD-2 platform. These emulations of the Solid State Logic 4000 console are now available for UAD-2 Powered Plug-Ins users on Mac and PC.

The SSL E Series Channel Strip emulates the SSL 4000 console, complete with both the Type E "black knob" and "brown knob" four-band EQ, as well as high- and low-cut filters and independent Expander / Gate and Compressor / Limiter.

To complement the E Series Channel Strip, Universal Audio has also released the SSL G Series Bus Compressor plugin, which emulates the center section console dynamics from the SSL 4000. This plugin features the same simple control set and transparent compression characteristics of the hardware version, including its ability to "glue" together a mix.

SSL E Series Channel Strip Powered Plug-In features:

• Developed and voiced in close partnership with Solid State Logic
• Exacting circuit emulation of both Type E "black" and "brown" knob channel EQ and filters

• Plugin emulation of the SSL 4000 G series bus compressor
• Officially licensed and fully authenticated by Solid State Logic
• Specially tailored dynamic characteristics ideal for compressing full mix or subgroups
• Fixed Attack and Release and Ratio settings
• Continuous Threshold and Make-Up Gain settings
• Auto Fade feature (1 to 60 seconds), as found in original console
• Analog-style metering and Compressor bypass
• Requires a UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Card

Universal Audio's SSL E Series Channel Strip plugin ($299) and SSL G Series Bus Compressor ($249) plugins are now available as part of the new UAD Software version 5.8.0 release from uaudio.com.
