Universal Audio UAD-2 Satellite Duo And Quad Firewire DSP Accelerator Packages Unveiled
Coming soon from Universal Audio, UAD-2 Satellite Duo and Quad Firewire DSP Accelerator Packages join the UAD-2 Powered Plug-Ins platform, offering DSP acceleration combined with Firewire 800 / 400.
Ideal for use with modern, Intel-based iMacs and MacBook Pros, the UAD-2 Satellite puts the entire UAD Powered Plug-Ins library within reach of Firewire 800- and 400-equipped computers, with no PCIe card installation required. In developing these UAD plugins, Universal Audio worked with hardware manufacturers (such as Roland, Neve, Studer, dbx, Solid State Logic, Lexicon, Manley, Empirical Labs, Trident, SPL, EMT and more), using their exact schematics and overall know-how. According to Universal Audio, UAD-2 Satellite gives computer-based musicians and engineers the warmth and harmonics of classic analog recordings, wherever they mix.
Available in Duo or Quad processor format (with either two or four Analog Devices SHARC processors, respectively), UAD-2 Satellite packages provide a processing "boost" for digital audio workstations (DAWs), and come with a selection of classic analog emulation plugins.
Use UAD-2 Satellite to tap into UAD-2 plugins via FireWire. Choose from five models: Duo (Core); Duo Flexi (with $500 Plug-In Voucher); Quad (Core), Quad Flexi (with $500 Plug-In Voucher), and Quad Omni version 5.7 (with 50 UAD plugins).
UAD-2 Satellite's main features:
- Access the UAD Powered Plug-Ins library on select Firewire 800 and 400 equipped computers
- Compatible with a wide range of Intel-based iMacs and MacBook Pros
- Run larger mixes in Avid Pro Tools, Apple Logic, Steinberg Cubase, Steinberg Nuendo, MOTU Performer and more, without taxing host computer CPU
- 5 Models to choose from: Duo (Core); Duo Flexi (with $500 Plug-In Voucher); Quad (Core), Quad Flexi (with $500 Plug-In Voucher), and Quad Omni version 5.7 (with 50 UAD plugins)
