In collaboration with Trident Audio Developments, Universal Audio has released its new Trident A-Range Classic Console EQ Powered Plug-In (Mac / Win; $249 MSRP) for the UAD-1 and UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Cards. The powered plugin brings the original Trident A-Range console desk to your computer's desktop.

The Trident A-Range plugin features 4-band active EQ modeled from one of the original Trident A-Range desks (there are only 13 of them); filter response curves modeled exactly after the original console; an inductor-based EQ design that yields band interaction between bell and shelving filters; the capability to combine cut filters for unusual filtering responses; and of course, a GUI that matches the original eggplant-color finish.

Version 5.5.0 of UAD software includes the Trident A-Range EQ plug-in, along with version 1.4 of the Mellowmuse ATA RTAS plugin, performance enhancements for Mac users, and better graphics mode functionality for the UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop on newer MacBook Pro models.
