With Universal Audio's rapid expansion of the UAD-2 product line, Winter NAMM 2009 gets its first look at the UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop. It's a compact ExpressCard version of the UAD-2 SOLO DSP Accelerator card.
The SOLO/Laptop DSP card brings to laptop users the analog emulations that Neve, Roland, SPL, Moog and a host of other companies approved. This means pro console quality mixing is available from your lap -- but it goes away if you stand up! You'll also get standbys like the UA 1176SE Compressor / Limiter, Pultec EQP-1A Equalizer, RealVerb Pro Room Modeler and CS-1 Channel Strip as well as unfettered access to everything in the Powered Plug-in Library.
UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop supports VST, AU and RTAS plugins on Mac and PC systems. Universal Audio estimates availability in Q2 2009 at an estimated street price of $499.
